INFINITE wins #1 + Performances from April 20th’s ‘Show! Music Core’



MBC’s ‘Music Core‘ is back once again with another fun and exciting show!
Today’s show was guided by SHINee’s Minho, Sohyun, and Hongchul who displayed their fun and dorky personalities as they MC a brand new ‘Music Core’.
Aside from the usual performances on tonight’s episode, Lee Hi, Electroboyz, Geeks, C-CLOWN, andDelight held their respective debut/comeback stages.
MBC has introduced a brand new ranking system for ‘Music Core’, and as such has nominatedINFINITE, K.Will, Davichi, and Lee Hi for #1 on the charts. After much anticipation, INFINITE clinched #1 with “Man in Love”!
Congratulations to INFINITE! (To clear up any confusion as seen in the encore clip, MBC mistakenly announced K.Will as the winner when in fact the voting graphs were read wrong. INFINITE was then announced as the winner for this evening.)

SM Entertainment responds to plagiarism accusations for SHINee’s “Dream Girl”



Some international fans had discovered the similarities between SHINee‘s “Dream Girl” and Luis Miguel‘s “Vuelve“ almost immediately Dream Girl’s release and now the issue is being spotlighted in Korea.
A video of the two tracks that compared the two songs was uploaded onto YouTube, and the many viewers who listened to it couldn’t help but notice the similarities. Some suggested that SM Entertainment might have sampled the song after buying publication rights.
However, SM Entertainment refuted all rumors that the song was either plagiarized or sampled, saying, “‘Dream Girl’ is the product of producer Shin Hyuk, who is famous for being the producer of the famous pop star Justin Bieber, and his composing team, ‘Joombas Music Factory’.” In a phone call withChosun, they said, “We didn’t buy distribution rights, and we didn’t sample the song. This is purely SM Entertainment’s creation. The plagiarism accusations are just opinions of some people.
In another phone call with Osen, a representative from SM said, “We know that [the plagiarism accusations] have stemmed from some netizens. We don’t think they know what plagiarism is. You can say they’re similar, but it’s not right to say they are the same.” A composer stated to Osen, “For a song to be considered plagiarized in legal terms, four bars must be completely the same. If you compare the two songs, you can’t say that.

G-Dragon might possibly retire one day?



G-Dragon shocked VIPs all over the world by revealing his plans to possibly retire from his career as an idol artist on ‘Thank You‘.
G-Dragon shared, “I am experiencing a big blessing right now, but I don’t think that I’ll be doing the same thing forever.”
“When I see myself not being handsome [on stage] and unable to share good music anymore, I will leave the stage. I perform on stage to give a good energy. But if I become in a position when I can’t give good energy, I will leave the stage with no regrets.”
“Probably around that time, I will have a happy family. I will get to share stories about how I met my wife and so forth, and I want to have those kind of stories to tell soon.”

G-Dragon to make solo debut in Japan with album release in August



G-Dragon will be making his solo debut in Japan with the release of an album on August 14.
He’s released ‘Heartbreaker‘ and ‘One of a Kind‘ in Korea and received tons of awards for both albums, and he’ll be taking his talents over to Japan! As of now, there’s no detailed information about the album yet, but since its his first Japanese solo album, many fans are looking forward to it already.
Currently, he’s working on his world tour, and he’ll be visiting 4 cities in front of a total of 361,000 fans just in Japan. He’ll be starting the Japanese branch of the tour on the 6th in Fukuoka. He also released his song “Michi GO” to fans who use the Naver chatting app LINE.

G-Dragon reveals he doesn’t consider money when he writes music



G-Dragon talked about writing music on “Thank You“.
On the 22nd’s episode, Cha In Pyo asked G-Dragon who took care of his money, and he answered, “My parents do“. On the subject of his income, he said, “Money, fame, and popularity comes when you work hard. You can’t have your interest in money. If you learn the code of popular music, you start writing only the same songs. If that happens, the public looks away, and your life as a composer is limited.
He revealed that when he made songs by focusing on popularity, they never did well, but when he wrote songs about his life and when he enjoyed the process, the public liked it as well.
Hearing this, Cha In Pyo added, “If you chase money, your songs will start smelling like money“.

G-Dragon releases MV for “Michi GO”!



G-Dragon has released his music video for “Michi Go“!
Originally, the MV was only set to be released for fans who attended his concert and the mobile messenger ‘LINE‘ users, but due to much demand, YG Entertainment has decided to release the MV to the general public. Sadly, the song will not be officially released to non-LINE users, and he will not be having any official promotions for the song, but check out the MV below!
